Water Resource Assessment Proposed National Bioeconomy Campus, former Lisheen Mine
MOR Environmental undertook a comprehensive hydrogeological (groundwater) assessment of the former Lisheen Mine complex in Co. Tipperary to assist in the development of a masterplan for the proposed National Bioeconomy Campus that will be located at the former mine.
The scope of work was to determine whether there was sufficient water supply, in regard to yield and quality, to serve the proposed National Bioeconomy Campus. The work undertaken by the MOR Environmental team included the following:
- Desk-based studies.
- Supervision of the drilling of new abstraction wells.
- Groundwater pump tests.
- Groundwater quality testing.
- Data evaluation.
The results confirmed that a sustainable groundwater supply of sufficient quality could be made available to serve the future requirements of the National Bioeconomy Campus.
