Air Quality and Odour Assessment for Proposed Agri Chem Whey Industrial Facility

Summary:

MOR Environmental prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment report in support of a planning application for the proposed Agri Chem Whey Facility in Lisheen, Co. Tipperary.

As part of an Environmental Impact Assessment, MOR Environmental undertook an assessment of air quality for both odour and pollutants such as NOx and dust. As the proposed development will be subject to the IE licensing process, emissions from identified point sources will be subject to strict limits and monitoring regimes stipulated by the IE Licence.

Scope:

Potential impacts on air quality from the proposed biorefinery and associated traffic were assessed against statutory air quality standards, by completing air dispersion modelling using industry standard modelling software approved by the EPA.

An odour assessment was undertaken to evaluate potential sources of odour emissions during future site operations, and mitigation measures were proposed to avoid any potential impacts on sensitive receptors.

Outputs:

Planning permission was granted for the proposed development in 2019.
