Acoustic Assessment for Danone in Wexford

Summary:

MOR Environmental was commissioned to acoustically assess the external soundscape of the Danone Nutricia Wexford facility, and to report back to management detailing the findings; advising on potential improvements that could be made.

The Acoustics Team conducted proximity sound measurements on key emission points around the facility, supplemented by both boundary, neighbourhood and overnight continuous monitoring.  The monitoring was conducted by a professionally competent acoustician, utilising our in-house Class 1 Sound Level Meter. 

Following the data collection, a noise model was developed to enable both a visual and numerical acoustic output arising solely from on-site emissions.  This data was evaluated against background measurements. The model was presented to management to enable an understanding of the facilities impact on the locality. This data was then utilised to reflect proposed alterations on-site and presented to the Planning Authority within subsequent planning applications.

Outputs:

A Noise Impact Report, incorporating noise model figures and tables, was submitted with the planning application. Planning permission was obtained.
